Christine O’Loughlin (Kane), 68, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 22, 2026. Chris was born on November 10,1957, in Hays, Kansas, to Merle Thomas O’Loughlin and Mary Ellen O’Loughlin. She would remind her family of how special she was being the first grandchild born to the current mayor which made the front page of the small town newspaper. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Chris’s warm and caring nature touched all who knew her. Her deep devotion to her children and her passion for nursing defined her life’s work. Chris raised two daughters as a single mother while putting herself through nursing school. Caring for the elderly was her true calling, and she excelled in that vocation as a Director of Nursing and Charge Nurse at several facilities in St. Joseph, Wathena, and Nortonville, Kansas. In her free time, she enjoyed walking, watching I Love Lucy, completing countless puzzles, and indulging her love of ice cream.

Chris dedicated her life to her children and loved her family endlessly. She shared a special, lifelong bond with her sister and best friend, Paula. She will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten. She is preceded in death by her parents and her grandchild, Jordyn. She is survived by two daughters, Amy Jenkins (Acle) and Elizabeth Champion; her sister, Paula Rappold; seven grandchildren, April, Adranna, Clayton, Caleb, Cambryn, Journey, and Josiah; and six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Lillian, Stiles, Liam, Logan, and Olivia.
