Isaac “Sonny” Lee Collins of Lenexa, Kansas formally of Saint Joseph passed Tuesday, February 24th at his residence. Born in Canton, Mississippi, he received his primary and secondary education there. He later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he met and married the love of his life Sonja Bradley. In 1990, they moved to St. Joseph, Missouri.

Isaac was an avid Chiefs fan loved the Lord. Isaac united in fellowship with the St. Francis Baptist Temple under the pastorate of the late Pastor A.B. Brown. Soon after God called him in to ministry where he served as a deacon for many years before being elevated to Chairman of the Deacon Board working closely with Pastor Brown and the current Pastor Dr. W.A. Hedge. Isaac worked at the Fellowship House for almost a decade, using his experiences to help others. He later began a career, working for the Missouri Department of Corrections. Isaac started out as Substance Counselor, quickly became an assistant warden, and then a Warden, first, in Maryville, and later in Kansas City, Missouri. retired for good in 2020 to spend more time with family.

Isaac is survived by his wife of the home, Sonja, sons, Gregoty Bland Isaac (Rachel) and Marlon Rupert, 4 grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

Isaac was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Collins and Eunice Collins, brothers LeRoy and Innis Collins.

Isaac will be greatly missed by all.
