Marcene O. Tillman, 92, was called into eternity on April 29, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 10, 1933, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to James Allen, Sr. and Oakley Allen Barnett.

Marcene was a proud graduate of the former Bartlett High School in St. Joseph and a long-time faithful member of Holsey ICM Church. She retired from St. Joseph State Hospital after 27 years of dedicated service.

Marcene was united in marriage to Robert Tillman on January 5, 1952, in St. Joseph, Missouri, and together they shared 58 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tillman; her parents; her son, Robert;  stepfather, Earl Barnett; her brother, James Allen; her sisters, Helen Allen, Betty Dejornette, and Mayenas Cumming; and her son-in-law, David Howard.

She leaves to celebrate a life well lived, her children: Jim (Merry), Marcene, Teresa (Alonzo), and Earlene (John); her grandchildren: Glenn, Robert, Kristi, Tiffany Tashay, Ryan, Jana Brynton, and James (Jay); along with a host of extended family and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Holsey Chapel, with visitation with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Ashland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bullock Family Funeral Chapel.
