Obadiah "Obi" Jones III was born on January 22, 1991, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Connie Rideau and Leslie Obadiah Jones Jr. On May 21, 2026, Obi departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and devotion to his family.

As a child, Obi was known for being quiet, thoughtful, and independent. While Kansas City was always home, he also spent part of his childhood in Lansing, Michigan, where he created many fond memories. He enjoyed sports, loved watching anime, and valued spending time with those closest to him.

Above all else, Obi cherished his role as a father. His two daughters, Paige and Emma, were the center of his world. Anyone who knew Obi knew how deeply he loved his girls. He is also survived by his loving mother, Connie Rideau; his siblings, Aaron Rideau, Narisha Seiber-Sariah, Arielle Rideau, Orlando Grimes (Jones), Corey Grimes (Jones), Benitha Price (Jones), Lynetta Jones, Tiffany Jones, and Sheronda Gordon; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

Though his time with us was far too short, Obi's impact on the lives of those he loved will remain for generations. His memory will live on through his daughters, his family, and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness, loyalty, and love.
