Pastor Albert Williams

May 5, 1928 — May 22, 2023

SAINT JOSEPH

Pastor Albert Williams, a devoted servant of the Lord, passed away on May 22, 2023, at the age of 95. He departed this earthly life at the home of his nephew and wife, Elder Curtis and Debra Williams, while surrounded by loved ones.

Pastor Williams was born on May 5, 1922, in Lucie, Tennessee, to his late parents, Sam and Lillie Williams. In 1972, he relocated to St. Joseph, Missouri, where he dedicated himself to his community and the service of God.

Throughout his career, Pastor Williams worked diligently for the Missouri Highway Department, serving for 30 years until his well-deserved retirement. However, his true passion lay in his spiritual calling. Over 40 years ago, he answered the divine calling and planted Heaven's Road Church of God in Christ (COGIC), where he faithfully shepherded his congregation. His tireless efforts in the District will be remembered by all those whose lives he touched.

Pastor Albert Williams was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth, and later by his second wife, Leannie. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters, and a son. Although he leaves behind cherished memories, his passing brings profound sorrow to his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved sister, Fannie Mae Williams, nephew Elder Curtis (Debra) of the home, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends whose lives were enriched by his presence and guidance.

A Home Going Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 3rd, at Heavens Road COGIC, St. Joseph, MO. Family visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Ashland Cemetery, where Pastor Williams will find his final resting place.
